Dominant Path Prediction Model for Urban Scenarios

چکیده
Currently, for the planning of wireless cellular networks in urban scenarios either empirical (direct ray or over rooftop ray) or ray-optical (ray tracing) propagation models are used. In this paper both approaches are compared to one another and to measurements in different urban city centers. Additionally a new concept which is called Dominant Path Model (DPM) is presented in this paper. This new concept does not focus only on the direct ray (like empirical models) and it does not consider hundreds of rays for a single pixel (like ray tracing), but it focuses on the dominant path(s) between transmitter and receiver. The parameters of these dominant paths are determined and used for the prediction of the path loss between transmitter and receiver. Thus the computational effort is far below ray tracing and in the range of empirical models. But the accuracy of the new model in very complex environments (with high shadowing of the direct ray) is even higher than the accuracy of ray tracing models (because of their limitations in the number of interactions). This very high accuracy is shown with the comparison to measurements in several international cities. Keywords—wave propagation, urban, ray tracing, dominant paths, measurements

Prediction of future urban growth scenarios using SLEUTH model (Case study: Urmia city, Iran)
Rapidly increasing urbanization in the world, especially in developing countries, let to increasing urban extents. Rapid urban growth causes to appearance many problems such as wasting environmental resources, inability of providing necessary services for citizens and unplanned growth. Urban mangers and planners need tools for understanding amount and size of future urban growths to prevent the...
متن کاملAnalyzing the effects of urban development on flooding in the cities (Case study: Birjand City)
It is increasingly recognized that the land-use change, especially urbanization has influenced hydrological attributes intensely. But in most urban designs, flood prediction is considered through type of land use (residential, industrial, and so on) and density. However, experiences show that this method has not been very successful. As a result, the present study aims to investigate and explor...
متن کاملPrediction of Prediction of Climate Change Impacts on Kharkeh Dam Reservoir Inflows with Using of CMIP5-RCP Scenarios
The objective of this research was to investigate the effects of climate change on precipitation and temperature parameters of Karkheh Basin and inflow to Karkheh dam reservoir. This was conducted by applying 21 GCM models under CMIP5 scenarios. The error indices of R2, RMSE and MAE models with the observed precipitation and temperature data were examined to find the appropriate GCM model, MRI-...

Various methods developed to convert large-scale data to regional climatic data. In few studies , the results of these methods have been statistically compared. The main purpose of this study was to compare SDSM and LARS-WG models for Downscaling output data of CANE-SM2 and HADGEM2-ES general circulation models under RCP2.6, RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 scenarios. For this study, precipitation, minimum an...
